Early last season I had the pleasure of second shooting for my friend photographer Nichanh Nicole at Rachel & Nicholas’s wedding! The wedding was at the beautiful Palm event center, surrounded by the palm trees and vineyards. Rachel & Nicholas were a very cute pair and had a FUN wedding surrounded by beloved friends and family.

Spent a LONG WHILE  with the men, if the pictures doesn’t convey that…these guys were super friendly and hilarious, or may be it’s the wine :)

I HAD to post this, loved the kids expression plus the hail glow was totally complimenting, my fav Photojournalistic shot I guess!

Since we knew each other through a common friend, since our very initial conversation I felt like I’ve known these guys for ever :) very cool, very open minded and smart couple. Yashada is a Physical Therapist and Mihir the man is a Software professional, if that’s not a smart combo I don’t know what is. These guys were really in LOVE and it was so much fun watching the glow in their eyes when they were sharing the wedding vision with me. They wanted an outdoor ceremony and an indoor reception so the San Mateo Marriott was perfect. The ceremony was in the morning and after lunch we had a long break until the evening reception so we ended up doing two getting ready/outfit change and two different portrait session which was fun. Now on to the photos.

Emily and Etienne were an amazingly sweet couple and they decided to have an intimate backyard wedding in their parent’s Saratoga home, surrounded by close family and friends. They couldn’t have found a better location than this as their home was very personable and way better than an actual wedding venue itself. I still can’t stop think of the amount and quality of food they served, it was amazing. Their speeches were very touching at the same time super humorous.

I always enjoy being a second photographer once in a while but, however I enjoy it all the more when I second for my good friend Jason, thanks for having me my friend! Hope you’ll enjoy the photos.

If you’ll wondering why the chairs were all leaned over on the tables, the answer is it was HELLA windy though the mellow look can deceive you!

And yes, Jacob is Indian, malayali to be specific, so they had a mini outfit change at the end to finish their special day with a splash of indian touch :)

For those who haven’t met Whitney & Ryan from their “Engagement session”, these guys are a gorgeous made for each other couple whose wedding I’d shot August of last year. Both Whitney and Ryan love outdoors and and hence chose the beautiful BR Cohn Winery as their venue to get married. They were surrounded with the love of immensely close family and friends. A very touchy yet fun and memorable wedding which was filled with DETAILS from small to big very carefully picked. Simply put it was every photographers paradise. Personally loved their wedding which was elegant and included white flowers, a lot of candles, khaki suits for the men, blue dresses for the ladies, and a lot of celebration.

Whitney & Ryan you guys both looked amazing on your special day. Once again a HUGE thanks to both and to also the entire McEachern & Lee family for having me photograph such a special event in your life. My team and myself had so much fun at your wedding, it was a blast!

My heartfelt Thanks to my AMAZING Associate “Jason Chan” and Assistant “Indu Huynh” for all their help, without them this would’ve been impossible.

Except for the actual ceremony itself, there wasn’t a second Marv wasn’t around Whitney. He’s super adorable!

GORGEOUS is an understatement here, Whitney! Adding to it Milita from Grant Avenue did a fab job with the flowers.

The awe moment…very emotional

Their bridal party was super fun and perfect, period!

Lets talk Details, there were loads of awesome details. From the cookie table to the naps and the green apples, loved it all.

One could feel the LOVE in the air.

Adding to the romance their First Dance was perfectly around the sunset golden hour, the light couldn’t have gotten any better. The dances and speeches were very very touching, my favorite part of every wedding.

The DJ nailed it, the party ended with lots of dancing, loud music and with eveyone blowing paper horns to bid farewell to bride and groom. Now that’s how you end a party, handsdown! …and they lived happily ever after True that. Wish you both a very happy married life guys!

Whitney and I were debating between Baker’s beach and Fort Point for GG bridge view, and finally opted for Fort Point. Both regretted and can’t be happier with this choice, when I scouted the day before the weather was like heaven, on the day of the shoot, it got WINDY as hell and was FREEZING cold. W + R were SUPER TROOPERS, they didn’t mind anything though they had watery eyes cause of the crazy wind and were freezing but they still kept a mellow smile and a conversation going, gotta appreciate that! Sorry guys, I hope the pictures made justice to that killa sacrifice! The wind came in all directions and we had to position Whitney facing the wind every now and then so her hair wasn’t messed up for the shots…WOW! My hands were so numb I could hardly feel my hands when I changed lenses LOL.

Their day was amazing and Angelique + Tej made a great pair and rocked the day, surrounded by their close knit family and friends. I’ve shot in dark venues before and it was probably for the ceremony only, but this place was exceptionally dark and I shot here all day in the same lighting, which was quite a bit of a challenge and my off-camera lighting put to extreme test! Thanks to my day before scouting, and my amazing assistant with Amanda Summerlin. Your help is greatly appreciated my friend, and this wouldn’t have been a successful session without you. The entire day was solely lit by my off-camera lighting only, thanks to my 580 Ex II’s and PW’s which kept firing all day consistently.

Since I’d didn’t want to carry all my lighting equipment I’d rented some of my gear locally with Aperturent, great guys, spot on gear and amazing customer service, highly recommend them if you plan to rent equipment around that area.

We did a mini after-shoot something more westernized and casual in an outdoor location at Autrey Mills Nature Center, and YES it’s still the same wedding and couple LOL! Again thanks to Amanda for recommending this park to me, its one amazing location to photograph, we just hiked 5 mins into this trail to capture this awesomeness. Further we hike this place is a photographers paradise, bridges, woods, greenery, what not.
